The company
Tasira develops sweeteners based on sweet proteins for food and beverage manufacturers, aimed at sugar reduction with simple labels. It designs and produces sweet proteins, including heat-stable and taste-improved variants of brazzein, using precision fermentation and protein engineering.
The company says precision fermentation and protein engineering let rare high-intensity sweeteners be made at scale as business-to-business ingredients.
Tasira started as the Sweet Bliss Bio Studio project at the BioInnovation Institute, in collaboration with the Technical University of Denmark, and is spinning out as a Copenhagen-based startup.
Founder Ali Fallah-Araghi is also listed as the founder of Sweet Bliss, the project Tasira grew out of.
