The company
Reinolab is building a digital science laboratory where students, researchers and educators run simulated chemistry, physics, biology, microbiology and food-science practicals online. It covers techniques such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, western blots and RNA extraction, guided by an AI lab assistant called Rex that gives feedback, safety warnings and protocol tips.
The product is meant to complement physical laboratories, which the company describes as scarce and costly: learners prepare before a practical and repeat experiments afterwards on any device.
Reinolab is based in Dar es Salaam and was founded in 2026. It is being adopted through partnerships with universities, research organisations and government bodies, including Tanzania's ICT Commission.
Co-founder Caroline Mwasigala previously worked at Stack Overflow and Upwork, studied at the Institute of Finance Management and is also a founder of Bizzyn. Dealroom lists Peace Bisake as the other founder.
