The company
Platform Control is a certified, independent body that reviews platforms' content moderation decisions — content takedowns, account suspensions — and issues legally sound assessments users can lean on. It's an out-of-court recourse under Article 21 of the EU's Digital Services Act, free to users, with costs generally borne by the platforms.
The DSA became applicable across the EU on 17 February 2024, giving users a right to out-of-court dispute settlement — but someone has to actually provide it. Germany's Bundesnetzagentur certified Platform Control on 4 November 2025, turning a legal right into a working channel.
The body was established to act as a bridge between individual user rights and the growing power of online platforms over freedom of expression, in a landscape reshaped by the DSA. The company says it exists to make platforms more accountable for the content they host.
The founding team — operating through Berlin-based KLN information services UG — has built a service that runs on specialised lawyers reviewing each admissible case, and it already covers disputes across major services from YouTube and Instagram to Reddit, Tinder and Wikipedia. Formal certification by Germany's telecoms regulator is a meaningful credibility marker.
