Kurio: a business financing adviser for Dutch SMEs, powered by AI

The company
Kurio is a Dutch business financing adviser for SMEs: an owner uploads their business bank statements, and Kurio's AI reads a year of transactions to show what level of financing looks achievable. A human adviser then picks the right lender with the owner and handles the application — and the owner pays nothing, because the lender pays Kurio.
Business financing no longer comes from the bank alone — there are now dozens of lenders, each with its own product, and knowing where to apply has become genuinely hard. Kurio points to a telling gap: a third of SMEs that look for financing never actually apply.
The company says it's built for Dutch BVs that want to grow but have no finance director in house — the owners left guessing where they stand before they commit to an application. Kurio was founded by Vincenzo Tumolo and is based in Dordrecht.
Details on the founding team's pedigree aren't public yet, but the model is disciplined where it counts: the lender makes every credit decision, nothing reaches a lender without the owner's consent, and the AI is paired with a human adviser rather than replacing one.
