The company
Cosmic Stack is an AI lab structured around four surfaces — a research lab, an incubator, an open-source organisation and an inference cloud — with its Cloud offering a managed runtime for running long-duration agent fleets without touching the underlying infrastructure. Early products include Mercury Agent (a terminal-native, open-source coding agent), Sav.ink (an AI personal finance manager) and Lazy Frames (an agentic video generation tool).
The company's thesis is that value in AI is shifting from the models themselves to the runtime around them — tools, memory and evaluation — which is exactly where today's capabilities outrun the products on the market. As agent workloads move into production, someone has to own the observability, tracing and infrastructure that make them reliable.
Founded in 2026 as a research-and-product lab, Cosmic Stack is built on an open-source-by-default, evaluation-driven approach, using its own product portfolio as a real-world test for its research rather than keeping the lab and the market separate.
The founding team is building across the full stack — from open-source agents to a managed inference cloud and enterprise consulting — which suggests the breadth to pressure-test ideas in public before productising them.
