The company
Codebahn is a managed Git hosting and continuous integration platform with private repositories, CI/CD pipelines, issue tracking and a container registry, all hosted in the European Union. It is built on a fork of the open-source Git forge Forgejo, so customers can export their data and move elsewhere.
Its pitch is data sovereignty: the infrastructure is hosted only in the EU, repositories are private by default, and the company says it does not scan customer code, use it for AI training or track users.
Codebahn was founded in 2026 by Simon Nordberg and is operated by the Swedish company Hackerman AB in Gothenburg. Nordberg started it after seeing European development work come to depend on US-based infrastructure, and it has had paying customers since June 2026.
Simon Nordberg has two decades in the software industry, including at Spotify, Ericsson and Volvo Cars, and studied at Umeå University. Codebahn runs as a solo-founder company.
