Boxes.dev
Cloud development environments for AI coding agents.

The company
Boxes.dev gives every AI coding agent its own isolated, cloud-based Linux computer — complete with dedicated filesystem, processes and compute — so agents like Claude Code and Codex can run and test applications end-to-end without stepping on each other. It automatically ports a developer's local environment to the cloud, then snapshots filesystem and memory to spin up new 'devboxes' in seconds for parallel tasks.
As developers lean harder on agentic coding, local machines are the bottleneck — clunky git worktrees, laptops left running overnight, agents colliding over shared state. Boxes.dev bets the natural home for a fleet of agents is the cloud, not your MacBook.
Co-founders Nick Bushak and Drew Regitsky built it in 2026 after hitting the limits of running extensive AI-assisted coding on local machines, according to the company.
The pair previously worked together at recruiting CRM Gem — Bushak as a co-founder, Regitsky as its first engineer — so they've shipped and scaled software together before.
