The company
Adexis is a London research lab building visuo-tactile foundation models that let robots handle objects by touch as well as sight. The models fuse visual and tactile signals into one representation, are pre-trained at scale and are then adapted to specific tasks with teleoperated demonstrations and imitation learning.
Adexis calls dexterous manipulation the final frontier of physical AI. Its full-stack approach aims to close the gap between simulation and reality, so control policies work on real hardware in contact-rich settings.
Adexis was set up in London in July 2026. It describes its work as building a somatosensory cortex for physical AI.
Thomas Varsavsky previously worked at Wayve, Tractable and Togethera and studied at University College London. Bill Leaver worked at V7, Entrepreneurs First and Sifted and studied at the University of Exeter.
