Quantum Desk landscape of companies and their funding

What this demo does

Compare companies in your investment area and check the founder evidence before deciding who to research further.

The data

Saved quantum company and funding data, with selected founder education and career profiles. Founder coverage is shown rather than filled in when records are missing.

What it does not tell you

Funding is not a measure of technical quality. Missing education records do not mean a founder lacks a degree. The demo is a dated snapshot, not a live sourcing feed.

Build your own

Copy this into a coding assistant that can build apps. Adapt the brief before you start. You will need your own Dealroom API access for live data; never paste a secret into the prompt.

Build Quantum Desk for an investor researching quantum startups. Include an overview of funding momentum, an interactive company landscape, recent rounds, a watchlist and a prominent Founder-first tab.

Let me filter geography, total funding and quantum segment. Start with Europe and a configurable $5M-$50M funding range. Separate mature diversified corporates from startup comparisons. Show companies and actual funding records behind aggregate charts; use the same cohort definition for comparisons and disclose differences.

Founder-first should show recorded founders, education, degrees where explicitly recorded, prior employers and earlier ventures, with source/profile links and coverage notes. Explain what evidence is available, without inventing a founder-quality score or ranking degrees. Clicking a company opens its funding, team and background details. Keep my notes and watchlist browser-local.

First read the Dealroom Premium API documentation at https://docs.dealroom.co/docs/premium-api. Discover supported filters and resolve taxonomy IDs rather than guessing them. Check current data availability before committing to a feature.

Use my own Dealroom Programmatic (M2M) credentials through a server-only environment file excluded from Git. Never ask me to paste a secret into chat or embed credentials in frontend code. Implement the documented OAuth2 client-credentials flow, cache tokens, refresh once on expiry, and send Authorization and X-Client-Id. Respect access limits, pagination and Retry-After. Do not silently treat a failed or restricted response as an empty dataset.

Build a working responsive web app, not a mockup. Start with a bounded cohort and cache responses with retrieval dates. Show currency, sources, missing values and partial coverage. Keep a clearly labelled saved-data mode for a public demo. Include loading, empty and error states, accessible keyboard alternatives, tests for the data joins and a README explaining setup. Do not publish, send messages or write to Dealroom without asking me.

How it works

These are the data joins behind the app. Confirm current routes, filters and response shapes in the API documentation before implementing them.

Define the quantum cohort

Resolve quantum taxonomy and geography through filter discovery. Document startup exclusions and the funding range, currency and date window.

GET /reference/filters?scope=companies
GET /reference/filters/search
GET /data/companies

Separate trends from records

Use analytics for funding trends and company or transaction endpoints for the actual deals. Do not present a limited company sample as a whole-market total.

GET /analytics/timeseries
GET /data/transactions
GET /data/companies/{id}/funding-rounds

Attach founder evidence

Join recorded team and founder UUIDs to person profiles and career records. Show explicit education and roles; leave absent fields unfilled.

GET /data/companies/{id}/team
GET /data/founders
GET /data/people/{id}/career

Keep founder research visible

Give founder backgrounds their own tab. Retain the overview, landscape and deal-flow views, with browser-local notes and watchlists.

Connect safely

Use Programmatic (M2M) credentials in a server-only environment file excluded from Git. The documented OAuth flow returns a token; requests need both Authorization and X-Client-Id. Cache responses and tokens, handle pagination and rate limits, and display retrieval dates and incomplete coverage.

A public version can serve a reviewed saved snapshot. A live shared workspace also needs authentication, storage and controls for who can see personal notes or export records.
