Zethos
Tech-led refining for critical mineral abundance from ores and industrial waste
About Zethos
Zethos (formerly Zincovery) is a Christchurch University of Canterbury spin-out building tech-led refining for critical minerals. Co-founded by CEO Jonathan Ring and Professor Aaron Marshall, the company started disrupting zinc recycling from steel-mill waste and has expanded its selective reduction and electrochemical platform to copper, nickel, manganese and other critical minerals. Renamed Zethos in February 2026 to reflect that broader critical-mineral abundance mission; demonstration plant targeted to begin industrial-scale recovery in 2026. Prior funding includes NZ$12M Series A (Sep 2024, Icehouse Ventures and Motion Capital leads), Callaghan Innovation grant, and US$3M seed. Live brand and website are Zethos at zethos.tech; LinkedIn company/zethostech. A separate Dealroom entity Zethos at zethos.ai is unrelated and was not merged.
