About Taurex

Taurex, formerly the retail division of Zenfinex, is a multi-asset online brokerage offering trading in forex, CFDs, commodities, metals, shares, indices, and cryptocurrencies. The company was founded in 2017 by Nick Cooke, a veteran of the forex industry with previous experience at FXCM and LCG. Cooke established the firm, then Zenfinex, in the UK and secured Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) authorization in March 2019. In September 2023, Zenfinex rebranded its retail operations to Taurex—a name inspired by the Latin words for strength ('Taurus') and exchange ('Ex')—to better reflect its focus on providing a robust trading ecosystem for retail clients. The Zenfinex brand continues to serve the institutional sector with liquidity solutions.

The firm is majority-controlled by Oscar Hilt Tatum IV, who runs the offshore investment firm iPoint Capital Partners. Taurex has expanded its global footprint from its London origins to key markets in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Africa, Asia, and Latin America. It holds regulatory licenses in jurisdictions including Seychelles and Sierra Leone. The company's business model for its agency brokerage services relies on revenue from spread mark-ups, commissions, and swap premiums. For institutional clients, it also generates income from liquidity and white-label solutions for MT4 and MT5 brokers.

Taurex provides a suite of trading platforms, including the widely used MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5), which support algorithmic trading through Expert Advisors (EAs). In addition, the company has developed a proprietary mobile trading app, designed to offer a seamless on-the-go experience. To enhance its service, Taurex has formed strategic partnerships with industry leaders like Trading Central, Swiset, and Acuity, providing traders with advanced tools, AI-powered news sentiment, and actionable trading signals. The platform offers various account types (Standard Zero, Pro Zero, and Raw) with differing minimum deposits and commission structures, with spreads starting from 0.0 pips and leverage up to 1:1000. The brokerage also offers passive trading opportunities through an in-house copy trading system and PAMM accounts.
