yd. yourdelivery GmbH operated an online platform for food ordering and delivery, catering to both individuals and businesses. The company was founded in Berlin, Germany, in 2009 by Christoph Gerber, Jörg Gerbig, Michael Brehm, and Kai Hansen. For corporate clients, the platform provided solutions for business lunches, catering, beverage supply, and fruit delivery, including online ordering, billing, and payment processing.

In 2011, the company rebranded from Yourdelivery to Lieferando. By 2014, Lieferando, along with its Polish branch Pyszne.pl, was acquired by the Dutch company Takeaway.com. This acquisition was part of a larger market consolidation. Following the deal, the Lieferando management team, including co-founder Jörg Gerbig, assumed leadership roles within Takeaway.com. Gerbig, who had previously worked at UBS Investment Bank, became the COO of Takeaway.com.

The German food delivery market saw further significant consolidation when Delivery Hero, a major competitor, sold its German operations—Lieferheld, Pizza.de, and Foodora—to Takeaway.com in a deal valued at approximately €930 million in late 2018. This transaction effectively made Takeaway.com the dominant player in the German market.
