About Yodel

Yodel is a UK-based logistics and parcel delivery company headquartered in Liverpool. It provides delivery services for both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) segments, serving many of the country's leading retailers.

The company's history began as Home Delivery Network (HDN), which was formed in May 2008 following the demerger of The Very Group's logistics division. HDN itself was a merger of Business Express and Reality, the delivery arms of Littlewoods and Shop Direct, respectively. The firm rebranded as Yodel in May 2010 after acquiring the B2B and B2C operations of DHL Express UK. Throughout its history, Yodel was privately owned by the Barclay brothers. In February 2024, to avoid collapse, Yodel was acquired by YDLGP Ltd, a holding company backed by tech logistics firm Shift and Solano Partners. Subsequently, in April 2025, Polish logistics firm InPost acquired Yodel's parent company, Judge Logistics. Mike Hancox was appointed CEO in July 2019.

Yodel's business model is centered on strategic partnerships with e-commerce businesses and retailers, offering a range of delivery options from standard and next-day to specialized services. Revenue is generated through service contracts based on parcel volume, delivery speed, and additional features like tracking. For smaller businesses and individual sellers, Yodel Direct offers a consumer-to-consumer (C2C) service without the need for contracts, which is integrated with marketplaces like Vinted and eBay. The company operates a network of distribution hubs and over 45 delivery depots across the UK, handling approximately 191 million parcels in 2023. Service offerings include door-to-door delivery, a store-to-store service, and a click-and-collect option through thousands of Yodel Store locations.
