The company was founded by Dr. Wang Xiaolu, who serves as Chairman and Chief Scientific Officer. Dr. Wang holds a PhD from the University of Kiel, Germany, and possesses over 16 years of experience in senior roles at a leading European innovative drug company. The core team comprises former executives from a German drug R&D company and overseas returnees with PhDs, complemented by domestic and international management and technical talent.

Yirui Pharma's business model combines independent R&D with technology introduction, and it actively seeks partnerships for co-development. The company's pipeline includes YR-001, a small molecule Kv1.3 inhibitor topical ointment being developed for atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. In early 2025, Yirui Pharma announced the completion of a Series A+ financing round of tens of millions of yuan, led by Tai Kun Fund, to accelerate the Phase II clinical trials of YR-001 in the United States and to advance other projects. This funding followed the successful completion of the U.S. Phase I clinical trial for YR-001, which demonstrated favorable safety and tolerability. The company has also developed an oral formulation of YR-001 for autoimmune inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
