Xyall is an innovative medtech company based in Eindhoven, Netherlands, specializing in automated tissue dissection solutions for molecular pathology laboratories. Founded in 2018, Xyall aims to revolutionize the tissue dissection process, addressing the challenges of manual, time-consuming, and error-prone methods that are typically used in tumor tissue extraction. The company’s flagship product, the Tissector, is an advanced, fully automated system designed to streamline the dissection of tissue samples. By combining robotics, digital pathology, and image registration technologies, the Tissector ensures that regions of interest (ROIs) from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) slides are accurately identified and extracted with high precision. This automation not only enhances the accuracy of dissection but also reduces human error, contamination risks, and variability between operators, ensuring high-quality samples for molecular analysis. Xyall’s Tissector system uses digital images from H&E-stained reference slides, allowing pathologists to annotate ROIs digitally. These annotations are then transferred to dissection slides, and the Tissector scrapes the tissue with precision, collecting the material into designated sample tubes without the use of liquids. This approach optimizes workflow efficiency and minimizes the need for manual intervention. To cater to various laboratory needs, Xyall offers different versions of the Tissector. The Tissector High Throughput (HT) is designed for high-volume laboratories, capable of handling up to 80 dissection slides per hour. On the other hand, the Tissector Table Top (TT) is a more compact version ideal for hospital-based laboratories, with the ability to run for more than two hours continuously. In addition to the Tissector products, Xyall also offers an Annotation Suite, which integrates with the Tissector systems, allowing pathologists to annotate slides digitally and facilitate seamless tissue dissection. Xyall has formed strategic partnerships with leading companies in the digital pathology space. Notably, a collaboration with Indica Labs has integrated their Tissector systems with Indica Labs' HALO® AP platform, streamlining digital pathology workflows from slide review to tissue dissection. Furthermore, Xyall has partnered with Motic to develop a high-precision tumor tissue dissection solution, combining Motic’s expertise in imaging with Xyall's automation technology.
