About Xergy

Founded in 2018 by energy industry veterans Colin Manson and James McCallum, Xergy is a technology company headquartered in Aberdeen, Scotland. The founders leveraged their extensive experience in the oil and gas sector to address pressing industry challenges like talent shortages and slow technology adoption. Manson, who serves as CEO, previously grew the energy consultancy Xodus Group to a $150 million turnover business. McCallum, the company's chairman, has a background in well engineering and has co-founded several energy companies, including Senergy, which was acquired by Lloyd's Register Group.

Xergy developed Proteus, a cloud-based work and project management software designed to streamline operations for companies in complex sectors like energy and engineering. The business operates on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, generating revenue through subscriptions to its Proteus platform. This end-to-end solution provides a suite of tools that cover the entire project lifecycle, from initial bid evaluation and proposal writing to project delivery, resource management, and financial tracking. Proteus aims to replace disconnected spreadsheets and systems, offering a single source of truth for project data.

The platform is engineered to enhance efficiency, providing real-time data and analytics to improve project controls, forecasting, and decision-making. It features two primary interconnected modules: a Sales Module to help win business and a Delivery Module to manage project execution. Proteus integrates with clients' existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), CRM, and finance software, breaking down data silos and improving collaboration among global teams. Key clients include engineering consultancies and major energy firms such as Wood Group, Genesis Energies, and Aurecon. Since its inception, Xergy has raised over £10.2 million and has expanded its global presence with offices in Dubai and Perth, Australia, to support its international client base.
