About Wuhan Supermag
Wuhan Supermag (Wuhan Superconducting Magnet Technology Co., Ltd.) develops superconducting magnets that require neither liquid helium nor a structural framework, technologies it says can challenge the overseas companies that have long dominated the market. Spun out of the National Pulsed Strong Magnetic Field Science Centre at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the company has developed a 1.5T MRI superconducting magnet system and, in May 2025, achieved stable operation of a frameless conduction-cooled magnet at a peak field strength of 9.0T. It has begun small-batch deliveries across quantum research, high-end medical imaging, industrial inspection, and controlled nuclear fusion.
