In a notable strategic move in November 2016, Winled embarked on a capital-raising effort through a share issue facilitated by the Invesdor platform. This was the first time the company sought external equity financing. The stated objective was to fund an ambitious international expansion strategy, aiming to transform its established domestic business into a digitally scalable model for global markets. At the time, the management, led by then-CEO Ville Reijasalo and Development Director Panu Rekilä, expressed confidence, citing a 40% growth rate and forecasting a turnover of approximately €2.9 million. The company positioned itself not as a nascent startup but as a seasoned business with deep industry knowledge ready for the next stage of growth.

However, the firm's trajectory shifted in the subsequent years. By its 2021 fiscal year, turnover had contracted significantly to €1.9 million, representing a 34.8% decline. The company reported an operating loss of €28,000 and its workforce stood at 11 employees. Ultimately, Winled Oy ceased its activities after being declared bankrupt, marking the end of its decades-long operation.
