In April 2026, Windmill announced it had raised $12 million in a seed funding round led by Inspired Capital, with participation from Primary Venture Partners, Founder Collective, and Oceans Ventures. Windmill's core offering is a platform that automates and streamlines the performance review process. Its AI agent, named Windy, integrates with over 30 workplace tools such as Slack, GitHub, Jira, Asana, and Google Workspace to continuously gather context from daily work activities. This "context graph" synthethizes data from 1:1 conversations, project work, and feedback throughout the year to create performance review drafts automatically. Employees interact with Windy through conversational prompts in Slack to build their self-reviews, while managers receive structured drafts that incorporate notes, peer feedback, and work activity. The platform also features "Smart 1:1s," which auto-generate meeting agendas based on recent activities to shift the focus from status updates to coaching. Windmill reports that its system can reduce the time spent on performance reviews by over 80% and has achieved 93% employee satisfaction.
