Vyriy Drone is a Ukrainian military technology company established in 2022 by CEO Oleksii Babenko in response to the full-scale Russian invasion. Evolving from a small volunteer initiative, the company has become a significant manufacturer in Ukraine's defense sector, specializing in the development and production of First-Person View (FPV) drones, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and loitering munitions. The firm's design philosophy is rooted in the firsthand combat experience of its team, ensuring its products meet the rigorous demands of the battlefield. As an official government contractor, Vyriy works directly with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, achieving a production capacity of 4,000 drones per month as of March 2023. A key strategic focus for the company is the localization of its supply chain. Starting in 2023, Vyriy began a concerted effort to replace imported components, achieving 70% localization by mid-2024. In March 2025, the company delivered the first batch of 1,000 drones built entirely from domestically produced major components, including frames, flight controllers, and cameras sourced from Ukrainian partners like D1 and Odd Systems. Vyriy's product portfolio is diverse, featuring multiple kamikaze and reconnaissance drones. The VYRIY 8 and VYRIY 10 are kamikaze drones with payloads of up to 2 kg and 4 kg, respectively. The VYRIY MAX 15 is a larger 15-inch strike platform designed to carry up to 8 kg, capable of hitting targets deep behind enemy lines. The company has also developed the "Veresen" drone carrier, which can transport two FPV drones and act as a signal relay, and the low-cost "Sokil" reconnaissance UAV. More recently, Vyriy has codified the "Dzhankoi" ground robotic system for logistics and support missions. To enhance drone resilience against electronic warfare, the company has introduced features like a "Cruise Control" mode that maintains a preset flight path during signal loss. The company also functions as a venture investor, acquiring stakes in other defense technology startups to expand its ecosystem. Notable acquisitions include developers of ground robotic systems, drone carrier platforms, and electronic components. In collaboration with NOCTIS, Vyriy co-developed the ZIRKA interceptor drone, designed to counter high-speed aerial threats using terminal machine vision. Complementing its aerial systems, Vyriy produces ground support equipment like the "VYRIY" ground station, which features a 19-inch monitor and a 12-hour operational capacity for remote control of UAVs.
