VoidZero is a startup founded by Evan You, the creator of Vue.js and Vite, focused on building a next-generation unified toolchain for JavaScript development. Its goal is to consolidate core development processes—such as parsing, formatting, linting, bundling, testing, and framework integration—into a cohesive, high-performance ecosystem with a consistent developer experience.

The company has raised $4.6 million in seed funding to advance its mission of streamlining the fragmented JavaScript tooling landscape, reducing redundant parsing, and simplifying configuration. Central to its approach is the development of Rust-based foundational tools, including Oxc, which serves as a parser, resolver, transformer, and linter, and Rolldown, a fast bundler designed to integrate with tools like Vite for enhanced performance.

Recent releases include Rolldown-Vite, a drop-in replacement for Vite that delivers build times up to 16 times faster while cutting memory usage by as much as 100 times. Another flagship tool, Oxlint 1.0, is a Rust-powered linter that runs 50 to 100 times faster than ESLint while supporting more than 500 existing rules. Oxlint has already seen adoption at companies such as Shopify, Airbnb, and Mercedes-Benz.

VoidZero positions itself as a “Cargo for JavaScript,” offering modular, runtime-agnostic components that can be reused or combined for custom workflows. By leveraging its connection to the established Vite ecosystem, the company aims to accelerate adoption and avoid the pitfalls that hindered previous attempts at unified toolchains.
