About VIVE STUDIOS

Initially founded in 2003 as 3D CORE in Seoul, South Korea, VIVE STUDIOS is a content production company specializing in computer-generated imagery (CGI). The company was established by Kim Se-kyu, a former music artist who transitioned into visual effects and 3D modeling. VIVE STUDIOS creates content using virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), CGI, and visual effects (VFX) for various media, including films and TV commercials.

The firm operates as a development and publishing partner for content creators, offering funding, marketing, and go-to-market support. This model is applied across diverse sectors such as gaming, education, healthcare, cinema, and retail. One of its notable projects was the MBC VR documentary "Meeting You," which featured a virtual reunion between a mother and her deceased daughter. In June 2021, VIVE STUDIOS secured an undisclosed amount in a Seed funding round from investors including SK Telecom, E&Investment, J&M Partners, and NPX Capital Private Equity.

VIVE STUDIOS is also the development and publishing arm of HTC VIVE for virtual reality content. This initiative aims to support developers in creating VR experiences for major platforms. It publishes both internally developed content, such as from its 2 Bears Studios, and works from external partners. The focus extends beyond entertainment to include applications in design, social platforms, real estate, and sports.
