Originally incorporated as The InFerGene Company in 1985, the company has transitioned through several mergers and name changes to its current focus. It is headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel. One of its co-founders was Jonathan Stefansky. Mr. Stefansky, who has a background in finance and information systems from institutions like Goldman Sachs and Akamai, served as CEO from 2012 to 2020.

The company operates through two primary segments: the Ad-Search division and the Digital Content division. The Ad-Search segment, powered by its subsidiary Gix Media, develops software that automates, optimizes, and monetizes online advertising campaigns by routing user traffic to search engines. The Digital Content segment, which has historically generated the most revenue, focuses on creating and editing multilingual content to generate revenue from advertising platforms such as Google, Facebook, and Yahoo. More recently, the company has been undergoing a strategic shift, including a proposed acquisition of Quantum X Labs to enter the quantum computing and AI sectors. The company's stock is listed on the Nasdaq Capital Market under the ticker VBIX.
