In the year 2000, Grupo Viatek was established in Málaga, Spain, as a fusion of technology service companies. Founded by César Caballero, the company's goal was to create a business model adapted to the IT and telecommunications needs of operators and manufacturers. Viatek began by focusing on telecommunication infrastructure and satellite projects, providing services like installation, maintenance, and network management. The company built its business around providing comprehensive IT services, from managing office equipment to network and cybersecurity solutions. This approach of offering a wide range of services under a single point of contact became a key part of their strategy. In 2011, Viatek initiated an international expansion, opening new offices in Latin America and North Africa to access new projects and broaden its reach. A significant development occurred in February 2023 when Aurica Capital, an investment fund, acquired a minority stake in Viatek for 15 million euros. This investment was intended to support Viatek's international growth plan, with an option to increase the investment and Aurica's stake to 49%. The partnership aimed to help Viatek expand into new markets, such as Germany and the UK, and strengthen its presence in sectors like renewable energy and security while continuing its core telecommunications work.
