Vedana's business model is centered on the discovery and development of antibody-based therapies that target clinically validated pathways in migraine pathophysiology. While first-generation calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) inhibitors were a significant advancement, a large percentage of patients still do not achieve optimal migraine control. Vedana aims to address this unmet need by focusing on the pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP) pathway, a complementary mechanism to CGRP. The company's product pipeline includes a lead program featuring a long-acting, next-generation anti-PACAP antibody. Its second program is a bispecific antibody that targets both PACAP and CGRP, designed to offer enhanced efficacy for patients who do not respond to monotherapies. Both preclinical programs are developing subcutaneously delivered antibodies for patient self-injection. The company anticipates initiating first-in-human clinical trials in 2027.
