About Vantage Media
Vantage Media operated as a prominent advertising technology company, focusing on online customer acquisition with a pay-for-performance model. The firm specialized in delivering new customers to clients in the Insurance, Education, and Home verticals. The company's business model was centered on its real-time bidding platform for direct response marketing, which enabled advertisers to directly engage with active buyers on various websites. This platform allowed consumers to research products and services and connect with clients through submitting information, clicking to a website, or using a "click-to-call" feature.
Under the leadership of CEO Patrick Quigley, who brought over 15 years of experience from companies like QuinStreet and BEA Systems, Vantage Media saw significant growth. This growth was recognized by accolades such as the Inc. 500 and the Deloitte Technology Fast 500. A key milestone was the 2011 merger with BrokersWeb, a leader in pay-per-click advertising for the insurance vertical, which created one of the largest online performance marketing companies and solidified Vantage Media's position in the market. By 2012, the company had nearly tripled its revenue in two years and launched a mobile pay-per-click marketplace, initially for auto insurance clients. In 2013, the company reported revenue of $143 million.
In a strategic shift to concentrate on its core advertising technology, Vantage Media sold its education services business to Campus Explorer in December 2014. Following this divestiture, the company rebranded to Katch in March 2015 to better reflect its focus on engaging in-market shoppers through its real-time bidding platform. The company's primary ad verticals were also renamed, including HealthPlans.com for health insurance and AutoInsurance.net for auto insurance.
