Unirisx
Provider of world-class, SaaS-based, core administration solutions for property and casualty (P&C) insurance organizations
About Unirisx
Unirisx provides a configurable, SaaS-based policy administration platform for the property and casualty (P&C) insurance sector. The company was originally established in 2004, with Andrew Philpott being one of the founders. In 2009, UniRisX Ltd was acquired by a private equity consortium, leading to the formation of UniRisX, LLC. This acquisition installed a new executive team, including David P. Hollander, former managing director of Accenture's Global Insurance Software Solutions Group, as CEO.
The company's core offering is a web-based, end-to-end solution designed to help insurance organizations manage the full policy lifecycle. This includes features for underwriting, policy administration, and claims management. The platform is built to allow insurers, agents, and brokers to quickly launch new products, create distribution networks, and manage policies in real-time. A key benefit is the reduction in time-to-market for new insurance products from months or years to just days or weeks. By operating on a SaaS model, Unirisx eliminates the need for clients to invest in their own IT hardware or software, which can lead to technology investment savings of 30 to 50 percent.
The platform is highly configurable, supporting multiple languages and currencies, and serves over 50 lines of business. It enables users to quote and bind various types of insurance, including personal, commercial, specialty, and workers' compensation. Unirisx primarily serves insurance companies, agents, and Managing General Agents (MGAs). The business model is centered on providing its comprehensive policy administration system as a service. In 2016, under the leadership of then-CEO Akhil Tripathi, the company underwent a significant rebranding effort. By 2024, Xceedance, a global consulting and technology company for the insurance industry, had acquired several companies to bolster its own data and claims capabilities.
