TruLeaf is an agricultural technology firm specializing in designing and implementing multi-level indoor vertical farming systems. Founded in 2011 in Halifax, Canada, by Gregg Curwin, the company was established to address food security and provide access to nutritious, locally grown food. The company has achieved significant milestones, including establishing a pilot farm in Nova Scotia in 2015 and launching its first large-scale commercial farm in Guelph, Ontario, in 2018. A major turning point was a strategic investment from McCain Foods in 2018, which has fueled a national expansion strategy.
