Triple Bio is a biotechnology company addressing profitability and sustainability in cattle farming. The firm was established in 2025 by CEO Peter Rowe, CSO Tracy Nevitt, and CTO Bart Tas, and was founded in collaboration with the Paris-based climate tech venture studio, Marble. The leadership team combines expertise in biotechnology and ruminant science, with Rowe having previously founded gas fermentation startup Deep Branch, and Nevitt and Tas coming from livestock methane reduction company Mootral. The company is developing RumeNRG™, a new class of feed additive designed to rebalance the rumen microbiome in cattle. This lipid-based platform has a dual function: it enhances the efficiency of existing methane inhibitors and redirects hydrogen within the rumen towards more productive fermentation pathways. This process aims to increase milk yields from the same feed ration while simultaneously reducing enteric methane emissions, a significant contributor to global greenhouse gases. By making more energy available to the cow from its feed, RumeNRG™ is designed to improve the income over feed costs for farmers, making sustainability economically attractive. Triple Bio's business model is centered on B2B partnerships. The company collaborates with ruminant nutrition partners to integrate RumeNRG™ into existing feed and non-feed products, and with dairy processors to help them lower their scope three emissions and improve the farm economics of their suppliers. The technology, RumeNRG™, consists of two main formulations using the same core lipid chemistry. One formulation, RumeNRG-PL, acts as a delivery system, encapsulating and protecting existing methane inhibitors like bromoform to make them more effective at lower doses. The other, RumeNRG-Mx1, is a standalone additive that influences hydrogen distribution in the rumen to boost feed efficiency and milk yield. The company sources common lipids already produced at an industrial scale, with its core innovation lying in the specific formulation of these lipids. Having raised over €1.5 million from investors including Nucleus Capital, Positron Ventures, and Climate Club, Triple Bio is moving from laboratory simulations to live animal trials to provide proof-of-concept for a larger funding round.
