About Triple-1

Triple-1, a Japanese semiconductor company established in November 2016, specializes in developing power-efficient Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) for the cryptocurrency mining and artificial intelligence sectors. Headquartered in Fukuoka, the company was founded by President and CEO Takuya Yamaguchi. Triple-1 began its journey in February 2017 with a mission to restore Japanese manufacturing by assembling top semiconductor engineers to develop ASIC products made in Japan.

The company's business is centered on the design and development of semiconductor systems, alongside a telecommunications business and the construction of digital infrastructure. Its revenue model is based on the sale of these advanced semiconductor chips to clients in the cryptocurrency mining and AI industries. Triple-1 partners with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the world's largest foundry, to produce its chips using cutting-edge process technology. A significant milestone was the distributorship contract signed with Fujitsu Electronics Inc. in 2019 for its KAMIKAZE mining chip.

Triple-1's product portfolio demonstrates a focus on high performance and energy efficiency. The company first introduced the "KAMIKAZE" ASIC for Bitcoin mining in 2018, which utilized a 7nm process to achieve significant power savings and faster processing speeds compared to conventional chips. This was followed by the "KAMIKAZE II," an enhanced 7nm chip with improved hash rates and lower power consumption. Venturing beyond crypto, Triple-1 developed the "GOKU" AI processor, which employs a 5nm process and is reported to be substantially more power-efficient than existing products. The company has also initiated projects exploring the use of supercomputers for ultra high-speed rendering in the metaverse, in collaboration with NEC.
