TranscEngram, established in 2023, is a technology company focused on developing the next generation of artificial intelligence, termed Autonomous Intelligence (AI 2.0). The firm was co-founded by a team of prominent artificial intelligence scientists from the University of Hong Kong, including Professor Yi Ma, Shenghua Gao, and Yanchao Yang. Professor Ma, a central figure in the company, is a globally recognized expert in computer vision, AI, and applied mathematics, serving as the founding Dean of the College of Computing and Data Science at the University of Hong Kong. His background includes professorships at UC Berkeley and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, as well as leadership roles at Microsoft Research Asia and ByteDance's AI Lab.

The company's core mission is to build autonomous intelligent systems that can learn directly from the open physical world. TranscEngram's technological approach is centered on creating a complete closed-loop system of “perception-prediction-interaction.” This system is designed to simulate human memory, enabling machines to learn and evolve through a process of self-correction. The ultimate goal is to provide a universal technology platform for the autonomous intelligent robot industry. The technology emphasizes high interpretability and efficiency, aiming to reduce the heavy reliance on computational power and energy consumption typical of current AI models.

TranscEngram recently secured a significant nine-figure RMB angel funding round from a consortium of investors that includes Sino Biopharmaceutical, PDVC, and Zhangjiang Group. These funds are allocated towards the development of explainable embodied control models, training pipelines, and the establishment of research and development bases.
