Established in 1998 by founder Francis Ascione, Tradim SAS operates as a specialized software publisher for the public utility sector in France. The company is currently led by Ascione as President, alongside General Manager Anna Lartigau. For over two decades, the firm has focused on digitizing waste management processes for local authorities.

Tradim's core business revolves around its proprietary software suite, "Ecocito," a modular platform designed to manage the entire value chain of household waste services. This includes solutions for waste collection center management, access control using technologies like LAPI and RFID, and the implementation of incentive-based pricing and invoicing for users. The business model combines software licensing with the integration of necessary hardware, secure data hosting in French data centers, and ongoing maintenance and support services. This integrated approach provides a comprehensive solution for its client base, which consists of French inter-municipal structures, syndicates, and metropolitan areas.

The company's product offering has evolved significantly since its inception. Beginning with centralized weighing solutions in 1998, Tradim introduced a full web-based management system for waste collection networks in 2005 and access control systems in 2007. A key development was the introduction of incentive-based fee management in 2010. Recognizing an adjacent market opportunity, the firm expanded its "Ecocito" platform in 2020 to include management and billing solutions for potable water distribution and sanitation services. In 2022, Tradim partnered with investment firms Capital Croissance and Turenne Emergence to facilitate a management buyout and support its continued growth trajectory and organizational structuring.
