Tracebit is a London cybersecurity company that builds cloud-native deception canaries so security teams can assume breach and detect intruders within seconds rather than months. Founded in 2023 by CEO Andy Smith and CTO Sam Cox—alumni of Tessian and Geneity—Tracebit deploys realistic decoy credentials, resources, identities and artefacts across AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, identity providers and developer workstations, then raises high-fidelity alerts when attackers touch them. Customers cited by the company include Riot Games, Snyk, Docker and Synthesia, with millions of canaries deployed and a Community Edition that lowers the barrier for smaller teams. After a $5 million Accel-led seed in 2024, Tracebit raised a $20 million Series A in March 2026 led by FirstMark, with Accel, MMC Ventures, Tapestry VC and CCL participating (about $25 million total), to accelerate product development and support customers from London and a new New York office.
