About TidalSense
TidalSense (formerly Cambridge Respiratory Innovations) is a Cambridge AI respiratory-diagnostics company founded in 2013 whose N-Tidal Diagnose handheld device captures a CO₂ capnogram during about 75 seconds of tidal breathing and uses AI models trained on more than 2.5 million patient breaths to detect COPD without forced spirometry. The CE-marked Class IIa MDR software launched into the NHS in 2025 and has expanded into NHS Wales, community lung clinics and Glasgow; any clinician can be trained in about 10 minutes. Led by CEO Dr Ameera Patel, in July 2026 TidalSense raised €16.6 million ($19 million) from Cross-Border Impact Ventures with returning BGF, Airstream Capital and Foresight Group, taking total funding to about €35.1 million ($40 million) including €9.6 million ($11 million) in grants from Innovate UK, SBRI, NIHR and Asthma + Lung UK, to commercialise in the UK and expand toward the US.
