THINQ Learning Solutions
Number one business to business e-commerce marketplace for skills training and professional education
About THINQ Learning Solutions
THINQ Learning Solutions, originally established as TrainingNet Computer Services in 1999, operated as a provider of enterprise-wide corporate learning solutions. The company was founded by Hemang Dave, who also served as its CEO. The firm focused on the educational software sector, offering a B2B marketplace for skills training and professional education.
The company's core offering was its enterprise learning management software, designed to assist companies in achieving their business objectives. A key product was the THINQ TrainingServer®, a Learning Management System (LMS) technology. In 2004, the company launched the THINQ Learning Content Management System (LCMS) as an optional module for its LMS. This fully browser-based tool enabled organizations to create, deploy, and manage content for training programs, featuring a drag-and-drop content assembly environment, collaborative authoring tools, and built-in workflow management. To cater to mid-sized companies with up to 5,000 employees, THINQ introduced the THINQ Learning Manager in 2001. This was a hosted Application Service Provider (ASP) service, providing essential learning management functionality with minimal initial investment and quick implementation.
The business model was centered on providing these software solutions to a corporate client base, operating as a private, venture-capital-backed entity before its acquisition. The company successfully raised $33.7 million in funding, with its last funding round on February 29, 2000. Over its history, it attracted investments from firms including BCI Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Blue Rock Capital. On May 5, 2005, THINQ Learning Solutions was acquired by Saba Software for $8.7 million, marking its exit.
