About Think Trader

ThinkTrader is the proprietary trading platform of ThinkMarkets, a multi-asset online brokerage. The platform, formerly known as Trade Interceptor, was acquired by ThinkMarkets in May 2017 and subsequently rebranded. It is designed for trading a wide range of instruments, including forex, indices, cryptocurrencies, commodities, ETFs, and stocks as CFDs.

The platform's history traces back to Trade Interceptor, which was founded in 2005 by Rodolfo Festa Bianchet and launched in 2009. It was developed by the Sofia-based software company Riflexo and quickly gained traction as a mobile-focused trading app. The acquisition by ThinkMarkets, a brokerage co-founded in 2010 by brothers Nauman and Faizan Anees, was a strategic move to bolster its mobile-first strategy. ThinkMarkets itself was established in 2010 as ThinkForex and rebranded in 2016 to reflect its expansion into a multi-asset brokerage. The firm operates globally with offices in multiple locations, including London, Melbourne, and Sofia.

ThinkTrader is available as a web-based platform and as a mobile app for iOS and Android devices, accessible to clients in over 180 countries. It provides an extensive suite of analytical tools, featuring over 125 indicators, 50 drawing tools, and integration with TradingView charts. Key features include a 'Traders' Gym' for strategy backtesting on historical data, up to 200 cloud-based alerts, and a multi-screen display for monitoring up to eight charts simultaneously. The platform also incorporates a 'TrendRisk Scanner' to identify potential trading opportunities and supports social trading through integration with ZuluTrade. The business model is centered on providing clients with trading access, generating revenue from spreads—the difference between the buy and sell price of an instrument—rather than commissions on the standard ThinkTrader account.
