TechGrid
Tech services platform connecting businesses with an ecosystem of certified Tech Service Providers (TSP’s)
About TechGrid
Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, TechGrid operates as a software company providing a modern business infrastructure for Technology Service Providers (TSPs). The company's history began in 2006 when Philip Wegner founded SecurEdge Networks, a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) that specialized in complex Wi-Fi engineering projects. Experiencing firsthand the challenges of fragmented software and manual workflows in the IT service industry, Wegner was motivated to build a unified platform to solve these issues.
The journey toward TechGrid involved several key milestones. In 2014, SecurEdge expanded into managed services, and by 2016, it was offering Network as a Service (NaaS). A significant step was taken in 2019 with the purchase of a software company to accelerate platform development. To fully concentrate on this new software-centric direction, the company sold its Managed Service Provider (MSP) business unit to Datavalet Technologies in 2021. This strategic pivot culminated in the official launch of the TechGrid platform in 2023 and a rebranding from SecurEdge Networks to TechGrid in April 2024. This rebranding was supported by a $9.2 million Series A funding round led by Bellini Capital, bringing total funding to $9.6 million.
TechGrid's core offering is a business automation platform that streamlines the quote-to-cash process for MSPs, VARs, and other IT solution providers. The platform aims to unify disparate systems used by TSPs, which can often total more than 40 different applications for managing operations. It integrates Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ), finance, fulfillment, partnerships, and customer experience into a single system with simplified workflows. The platform is built on three main components: a commerce platform with a digital catalog for products and services, workflow software featuring a CPQ engine with embedded finance options, and a marketplace for integrating partners and applications. This structure allows TSPs to build, sell, fulfill, and finance technology solutions, including converting traditional sales into 'as-a-Service' subscription models.
The business model is subscription-based, with pricing starting at $300 per month. TechGrid targets a range of clients from small businesses to large enterprises within the IT services sector, helping them automate proposals, procurement, and billing. The platform includes a unified client portal, digital IT workflows, and integrations with essential tools like CRMs, PSAs, and ERPs from providers such as Salesforce, HubSpot, and ConnectWise.
