About Te Creemos
Te Creemos, established in 2005, is a Mexican financial institution operating as a Sociedad Financiera Popular (SOFIPO) dedicated to serving the country's underbanked and unbanked populations. The company's core mission is to foster financial inclusion by providing accessible credit and savings products to individuals and micro-entrepreneurs who have historically been excluded from the traditional banking system. Its business model centers on granting micro-credits for working capital, personal use, and home improvement, thereby enabling clients to grow their businesses and improve their family's assets.
Revenue is generated primarily through interest on its diverse loan portfolio. The company offers a range of financial products including individual loans, group loans (communal banking), and savings accounts. This strategy targets a significant portion of the Mexican population that operates in the informal economy, providing them with the necessary capital to manage and expand their ventures, which range from woodworking and furniture to grocery and textile businesses.
Since its inception, Te Creemos has pursued an aggressive growth strategy marked by numerous acquisitions. This journey of expansion began with acquiring Consugrupo's portfolio in 2012, followed by Finclusión in 2015. A major milestone occurred in March 2018 when its parent company, Te Creemos Holding, acquired Consejo de Asistencia al Microemprendedor (CAME), another prominent SOFIPO. This move significantly expanded its market presence. The holding company continued its acquisition streak by absorbing the loan portfolios of SOLFI and Financiera Finsol in 2020, and agreeing to acquire Banco Forjadores later that year. In October 2022, Te Creemos and CAME formally merged their operations, with CAME subsisting as the single entity, to consolidate their strengths and create one of the largest microfinance institutions in Mexico. This combined entity serves hundreds of thousands of clients through a vast network of branches across the country.
