About TargED

TargED Biopharmaceuticals is a Utrecht clinical-stage biotech spun out of University Medical Centre Utrecht in 2020 by Coen Maas, Steven de Maat, Marc van Moorsel and CEO Kristof Vercruysse. Its lead candidate TGD001 is a targeted thrombolytic antibody–enzyme fusion that binds von Willebrand factor to promote site-specific clot breakdown via urokinase, aiming to treat acute ischemic stroke and thrombotic microangiopathies including iTTP; Phase 1 first-in-human results reported a favourable safety profile and potent activity. In December 2025 TargED closed a €21.5 million Series A extension led by BioGeneration Ventures with Andera Partners, Fund+, Hadean Ventures, Inkef Capital, Sunstone Life Science Ventures and Curie Capital, bringing total Series A above €60 million to fund Phase 1/2 proof-of-concept studies in Europe and the US.
