SyncHR, established in 2010 and headquartered in Denver, Colorado, developed a cloud-native Human Capital Management (HCM) platform specifically for mid-sized enterprises. The company was acquired by PrimePay, a national payroll and HCM provider, in April 2021, a move that combined SyncHR's robust software with PrimePay's extensive service offerings. At the time of the acquisition, SyncHR's CEO, Pam Glick, transitioned to the role of Chief Marketing Officer at PrimePay. Following the merger, the integrated platform was officially rebranded as PrimePay in August 2023, unifying the product suites under a single name and identity.

The firm's business model is centered on providing a comprehensive, subscription-based HCM solution. This all-in-one platform integrates HR, payroll, and benefits administration into a single database, eliminating the need for manual data entry across different systems and ensuring real-time data accuracy. SyncHR targeted mid-market companies across various sectors including healthcare, manufacturing, technology, and retail. The core of its offering is a patented, position-based architecture that allows for a unified system of record for all employee data. This structure provides clients with deep visibility into their organization, enabling them to track budgets, staffing, and organizational changes over time.

The platform's key features include automated payroll processing with the ability to handle complex and retroactive calculations, benefits administration, time and attendance tracking, performance management, and robust reporting and analytics. A unique selling point was its non-linear payroll processing, which allowed for payroll to be run by date ranges rather than strictly sequential batches, offering greater flexibility. The system was designed to be highly configurable, supporting integrations with other critical business systems like accounting and ERP software. Since the acquisition, PrimePay has continued to build on SyncHR's technology, integrating its own payroll software in December 2022 to create a more flexible, unified HCM platform aimed at simplifying HR complexity for small and medium-sized businesses.
