The company's journey began as KA Enterprises in 2002. Founded by Alok Birla, who has over 18 years of experience in the hygiene industry, the current iteration of the company, Swara Baby Products Ltd., was incorporated in November 2016. Mr. Birla began his career in feminine hygiene, serving as an OEM for Kimberly-Clark in Southeast Asia before venturing into baby diapers and establishing one of India's first pant-style diaper manufacturing units. The company functions as a key original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for numerous multinational and domestic brands, including Procter & Gamble (Pampers), Kimberly-Clark (Huggies), Unicharm, Kenvue, Himalaya, and Piramal. Its business model is centered on B2B partnerships, providing white-label and private-label manufacturing solutions. Brainbees Solutions Ltd, the parent of FirstCry, is a major promoter and shareholder, owning a 76.59% stake in the company. This creates a dynamic where its largest shareholder is also one of its major clients. Swara Baby Products operates four manufacturing facilities in Pithampur and Indore, Madhya Pradesh, with a production capacity of 3.6 billion diapers per year. The product portfolio includes pant-style and tape-style baby diapers, adult diapers, sanitary napkins, and panty liners. The company has achieved significant growth, with revenues rising from ₹545 crore in FY23 to approximately ₹943 crore in FY25. In 2024, it became one of the first manufacturers in India to receive BIS certification for baby diapers. The group has expanded through acquisitions, including KA Enterprises (Hygiene) Private Limited and Solis Hygiene Private Limited, to form a dedicated hygiene vertical. To support global trade, it has also established Swara Corp in Delaware, USA.
