Sunwoda Power Technology, officially known as Sunwoda Mobility Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (SEVB), is the electric vehicle battery subsidiary of Sunwoda Electronic Co., Ltd. The parent company was founded in 1997 by brothers Wang Mingwang and Wang Wei, who currently serve as founder and chairman, respectively. With a background in producing consumer electronics batteries for major brands like Apple and Huawei, Sunwoda Electronic leveraged its decades of experience to enter the more demanding automotive sector. The company began research and development for EV battery systems in 2008 and established SEVB in 2014, the same year it achieved mass production of consumer lithium-ion cells.

SEVB operates as a comprehensive new energy technology enterprise, vertically integrating the production, marketing, and research of battery cells, modules, Battery Management Systems (BMS), and complete battery packs (PACK). The business model focuses on direct product sales and forming long-term strategic partnerships with major automotive manufacturers. Its client base includes prominent global and domestic automakers such as Volkswagen, Volvo, Renault, Nissan, Li Auto, Geely, and Dongfeng Motor Group. Revenue is generated by supplying these clients with customized power battery solutions for a range of vehicles, including hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and full battery electric vehicles (BEVs).

The company's core offering is high-performance lithium-ion power batteries. A key product is the super-fast charging SFC480 battery, also known as the "Flash Charge Battery". This battery can reportedly provide a 200 km range with just a five-minute charge and supports a total range of up to 700 km. Its technology performs well in low temperatures, retaining over 85% of its energy at -20°C. Beyond conventional lithium-ion technology, SEVB is actively developing solid-state batteries, having produced laboratory prototypes with high energy density and signing strategic agreements to advance research in this area. To support its manufacturing and R&D, SEVB has received significant capital, including a Series A funding round in 2022 that raised approximately $1.17 billion.
