About StyleHaul

Founded in 2011 by Stephanie Horbaczewski, along with co-founders Allen and Aaron DeBevoise, StyleHaul emerged as a pioneering force in the digital media landscape, specializing in the fashion and beauty verticals. Horbaczewski, who previously served as a marketing director at Saks Fifth Avenue, envisioned translating the world of fashion editorials to digital and social platforms. This vision materialized into a multi-channel network (MCN) on YouTube that provided a platform for content creators to connect with brands.

The company's business model centered on representing a vast network of style vloggers and influencers, connecting them with major brands for native advertising and branded content campaigns. StyleHaul's revenue was generated through these large-scale marketing campaigns with notable beauty and retail giants like Sephora, Maybelline, and Walgreens. The firm offered its creator partners services such as audience growth, revenue optimization, production resources, and data services to match them with brands for authentic and successful campaigns. The platform primarily targeted the influential 18 to 34-year-old female demographic.

A significant milestone in StyleHaul's history was the acquisition of a controlling stake by European media conglomerate RTL Group in November 2014 for $107 million. This investment fueled the company's growth, enabling global expansion with offices in cities like New York, London, and Singapore. StyleHaul also ventured into producing original scripted content, such as the series "Vanity," in partnership with Maybelline, and other shows with FremantleMedia. By 2016, the network managed thousands of creators with a collective following of 500 million across YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Founder Stephanie Horbaczewski departed the company in 2018. In 2019, StyleHaul ceased its U.S. operations, shifting its focus to Europe before ultimately shutting down. The closure was shadowed by a major embezzlement scandal where a former executive was convicted of embezzling over $22 million from the company.
