About iBhan (formerly STSN)

iBhan, originally founded as STSN (Suite Technology Systems Network) in February 1998, established itself as a specialized internet service provider for the hospitality industry. The company secured a significant early contract in 1999 with Marriott Corporation to deploy high-speed internet across approximately 500 of its hotels, setting a course for its focus on in-room technology solutions.

A pivotal moment in its early history was an investment from the Intel Communications Fund in December 2002. This capital was instrumental in facilitating the rollout of WiFi services in nearly 400 Marriott properties, aligning the company with the growing demand for wireless connectivity. In 2005, STSN rebranded to iBhan to reflect its expanding service offerings beyond simple internet access. The business evolved to provide a broader suite of digital information and entertainment systems, including augmented conference and meeting solutions, serving not only hotels but also corporate clients like Bank of America, IBM, and Microsoft.

The company's business model was centered on providing managed services over a dedicated, enterprise-grade IP platform. This involved designing, installing, and managing networks that delivered connectivity and entertainment to guests' personal devices and in-room screens. Revenue was generated by providing these bundled technology solutions to hotel brands and corporate entities. At its peak, iBhan operated in over 50 countries, supporting more than 3,000 hotels and managing a network that served millions of users monthly.

Despite its global reach and prominent client list, iBhan faced significant financial challenges, ultimately leading the company to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September 2013. In March 2014, the firm's assets were acquired by its rival, Guest-tek, a global provider of broadband technology and interactive solutions for the hospitality sector. This acquisition marked the end of iBhan's operations as an independent entity, with its infrastructure and client portfolio being integrated into Guest-tek's offerings.
