The firm's core business was providing front-end optimization (FEO) solutions designed to accelerate websites and web-based applications for both desktop and mobile users. Strangeloop catered to enterprises, particularly in e-commerce and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), that relied heavily on customer-facing web applications. Its client roster included prominent names like Visa, Wine.com, Petco, and O'Reilly Media. Strangeloop's flagship product was the Strangeloop Site Optimizer, an automated tool that addressed front-end performance issues by simplifying and streamlining web pages in real-time. The company also developed the Strangeloop Mobile Site Optimizer to tackle the specific challenges of delivering faster content to mobile devices. A key achievement was securing $11.5 million in a Series A funding round in 2007, a significant amount for a Canadian tech startup at the time, and eventually raising a total of $21.5 million.
