About Stoke World
Stoke Talent, founded in Tel Aviv in February 2019 by Shahar Erez and Hilik Paz, developed a freelance management system (FMS) designed to streamline how companies engage with non-payroll workers. The idea originated from Erez's tenure at marketing software company Kenshoo, where he experienced firsthand the corporate complexities of working with freelancers and anticipated the growing need for a solution. Erez, with a background in computer science, business, and an MBA in Marketing and Entrepreneurship, previously held leadership roles at Kenshoo, VMware, and HP Software.

The company operated as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform, providing a comprehensive solution for businesses to hire, onboard, manage, and pay independent contractors and freelancers. Its target clients were companies of all sizes that rely on an external workforce. The platform aimed to simplify workflows for various departments, including engineering, marketing, and design, while ensuring legal, tax, and workforce classification compliance for finance and legal teams. Core features included automated onboarding, project and budget tracking, invoice processing, worldwide payments, and compliance management. Stoke's system allowed companies to create their own talent directories of both online and offline freelancers, giving them full visibility and control over their contingent workforce.
A significant milestone in the company's history was its acquisition by Fiverr (NYSE: FVRR) in November 2021 for approximately $95 million. This acquisition was a strategic move for Fiverr to expand its services upmarket to larger enterprise clients and to integrate management tools for companies' existing freelance workforces, including those sourced outside of the Fiverr marketplace. Following the acquisition, Stoke Talent continued to operate independently before being rebranded to Fiverr Enterprise in May 2023, with Shahar Erez taking the role of general manager. The rebranding marked a deeper integration into Fiverr's ecosystem, aiming to provide a centralized platform for large businesses to manage their entire freelance talent strategy.
