Stockeeper
Fractional investment platform for Korean cattle assets
About Stockeeper
Stockeeper is a South Korean fintech company founded in October 2020 by CEO An Jae-hyun. An, who graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Economics and handled overseas livestock imports for a major corporation, was inspired to start the company to address the capital procurement challenges faced by his mother, a Hanwoo (Korean cattle) farmer for over 40 years.
The company operates 'Bancow', a fractional investment platform that connects cattle farms with retail investors. Through the Bancow app, users can invest in fractional ownership of Hanwoo calves, starting from as little as KRW 40,000 (approximately USD 30). This model provides farmers with capital to increase productivity and scale their operations, while offering investors access to a real-asset class with stable growth potential. The entire process, from monitoring feed costs to auction results, is transparently managed through the app. In November 2022, the business model evolved to a security token offering (STO) structure, allowing for the bundling of multiple cattle into a single security for public offering, a move accepted by financial authorities.
By June 2025, Stockeeper had issued 10 livestock investment contract securities, raising a cumulative total of over KRW 10 billion in assets under management (AUM) and attracting over 42,000 members. The company has secured partnerships with financial institutions like KB Kookmin Bank, Shinhan Investment Corp, and NH Nonghyup Bank to ensure the secure management of investor funds. In March 2023, Stockeeper raised KRW 5.8 billion in a Series A funding round. Beyond its investment platform, Stockeeper is expanding across the value chain with its own premium meat distribution brands, such as 'Gourmet Premium', '107 Steakhouse', and the 'Soljikhanwoo' restaurant, aiming to innovate the entire ecosystem from farm financing to retail consumption.
