About Steady Energy
Steady Energy is a Finnish nuclear-technology company spun out of VTT that develops the LDR-50 heat-only small modular reactor for zero-carbon district heating as an alternative to fossil-fuelled heat plants. The simplified light-water design targets cities and utilities that need affordable, scalable low-temperature heat without operating a full power reactor. In September 2026 Steady Energy signed a share-exchange agreement to combine with 3North Partners Plc ahead of an intended First North Finland IPO, with about €69.8 million of irrevocable subscription commitments from Elo, Fortum Energy Holding, Ilmarinen, Mininvest, Move Energy SMR Holding, Orlen VC, Tesi, Varma and Yes VC Select, and a European Investment Bank convertible loan of up to €40 million (first EIB SMR financing) to fund 2026–2028 R&D, testing and licensing toward first commercial deployment.
