Startdt (奇点云), formally known as Hangzhou Bizhi Technology Co., Ltd., was established in 2016 by founder and CEO Zhang Jinyin (张金银). Zhang's extensive background in data technology, including a 12-year tenure at Alibaba where he built the company's first data warehouse and led the creation of its consumer information database (TCIF), provides the foundational expertise for Startdt. The executive team also includes co-founder and COO Liu Ying, who brings experience from her time at Alibaba Cloud, and CTO Wang Leheng, formerly the first product director for Alibaba Cloud's MaxCompute big data engine.

The company operates as an independent third-party provider of big data infrastructure software, offering products and services that span the entire data lifecycle. Its business model focuses on providing enterprises with a suite of data intelligence solutions delivered through a combination of products and services. This includes consulting, implementation, and operational support to help clients navigate their digital transformation. Startdt serves a diverse client base across retail, manufacturing, finance, and government sectors, with over 1500 customers to date.

A significant milestone in the company's history was the 2022 merger with GrowingIO, a prominent data analytics company. This strategic move created a powerful synergy, combining Startdt's robust "Data Cloud" infrastructure with GrowingIO's advanced "Analysis Cloud" applications. This integrated "platform+application" approach allows clients to manage data infrastructure and derive business value through analytics seamlessly. The company has successfully raised significant capital through multiple funding rounds, including a C2 round at the end of 2022, which brought its total C-round financing to nearly 300 million RMB, with investors like Taikang Life Insurance, ByteDance, and Yuhang GuoTou Group.

Startdt's core product offering is its Data Cloud platform, DataSimba, a cloud-native system designed to help enterprises manage and govern data efficiently. Key products under the Startdt umbrella include DataKun, a data storage and computing engine; DataBlack, a data security engine; and DataMaleon, a data visualization platform. For the application layer, the company offers a Consumer Operation Platform (DataNuza), a Customer Data Platform (CDP), and User Behavior Analytics (UBA). This comprehensive suite enables clients to unify disparate data sources, create holistic user profiles through technologies like ID-Mapping, and automate marketing efforts for a personalized customer experience.
