Stack Lighting, founded in 2013 by Neil Joseph and Robert Bogart, developed a spatial intelligence platform to monitor indoor activity. Joseph, who previously managed the delivery organization at Tesla Motors, served as the CEO. The company's core technology involved embedding Doppler radar sensors into LED light bulbs, creating a responsive lighting system.

These smart bulbs could detect motion, even through lampshades, and sense ambient light levels. This allowed the system to automatically adjust the light's color temperature and brightness based on the time of day, occupancy, and available natural light to match user habits and conserve energy. The platform aggregated and analyzed data in the Stack Lighting cloud, making insights available through APIs for creating real-time applications for home automation, commercial building management, security, and space usage analytics. The system was designed to integrate with other smart home products and platforms, including Nest, Amazon Alexa, and IFTTT.

The company was based in Cupertino, United States. In June 2017, Stack Lighting was acquired by Philips Lighting, which later became Signify. Following the acquisition, the technology was integrated within Philips Lighting's product development. In late 2018, the senior team from Stack Lighting formed a new company called Stack Enabled to design responsive systems for the automotive and IoT sectors.
